The Brooklyn Motor Inn is located in Red Hook, Brooklyn, which is
the neighborhood adjacent to ours, Carroll Gardens. It's right by
the East River. Though the area might look industrial, it's a
long-standing artists' community full of great bars, restaurants, and
cafes. Some of our favorites are Lily's - a bar, Bake - a cafe, and
Alma - a Mexican Restaurant on the second floor and a bar on the first with
fabulous views of the East River. It's also, approximately, a
fifteen minute walk from the wedding and from our apartment. See a Google Map
of the route. The website boasts that it's very convenient for those
with cars. NOTE that acquaintances have told us that the guests can
have late, loud parties, which might be good if you want to keep partying
after the wedding and reception, but might not be wonderful if you want to get
to sleep for an early return trip home.

A very fancy hotel located in downtown Brooklyn. It's a five
minute walk to Brooklyn Heights, a neighborhood teeming with restaurants,
bars, cafes and stores, that also has a beautiful promenade overlooking
the East River. It's a ten minute walk to DUMBO, a neighborhood with
a longstanding artist community that features Jacques Torres Chocolate,
Grimaldi's Pizza, and an ice cream factory right on the peer that makes
home-made ice cream. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk to the wedding,
or 2 stops on the F train.  (See Directions for more details.)

Located in the East Village, St. Mark's Hotel is a great location
for your stay in New York City. You will find everything from restaurants,
museums and galleries within easy access. Many local highlights, like
nearby Greenwich Village, are accessible by foot or short subway or taxi
ride. This is a hip place that's lots of fun. We go to the East
Village all the time. Our favorite Indian Restaurant is Haveli's, located
on 2nd Avenue between 5th and 6th Streets; our favorite Korean Restaurant is
Dok Suni, located on 1st Avenue between St. Marks Place and 7th Street; and our
favorite Mexican Restaurant ever is Itzocan located on 9th Street between 1st
Avenue and Avenue A. To get to the wedding, take the F train at
the Broadway & Lafayette stop.  (See Directions for more details.)
